Sneak Peak: The Galan Family

Talk about a sneak-peak week! The day after TJ + Jasmine’s wedding I met the Galan Family in the Berkeley Marina for some fun family shots. My job doesn’t get any better than this – especially when my subjects are more than happy and willing participants – not to mention darn stinkin’ cute too! More photos on this session later this week. For now just a cute teaser.

Jasmine + Tyrell

Meeting Jasmine + Tyrell (or TJ) for the first time was like catching up with old friends. As hours passed We chatted, laughed, and revisited their fondest memories from way back – like when they first met in college. And as boy met girl they both realized that they were in it for the long haul. It is so obvious in the way that Jas looks at TJ with adoration. With TJ it is his generosity – a generosity that is paramount because he is the one guy who will do absolutely anything and everything for her. And more.

I was elated when I learned I would be working with TJ + Jas. Rest assured I knew that working with them on their big day was going to be an extraordinary experience. From the nitty gritty to the big and gritty, Jasmine and Tyrell’s creative genius came to absolute fruition. And perfection.

The day started out at the Fairmont hotel where Jas and her girls prepared for the exciting day ahead. You know you’re a wedding photographer about to embark on an adventurous day when you’ve inhaled more aerosol than a hairspray refinery, are working within the confines of an 8×8 square room with a second shooter + a videographer and are charged with the energy and excitement equivalent to a children’s birthday party. While there were many great moments and details to chose from, I eventually had to narrow it down to a select few.

The gorgeous flowers. Good for me that yellow tulips are also my favorite.

There’s just something about this photo that I find so cute and amusing!

These are SO Jasmine!

A little soft but I like the intimacy in this photo.

I just love the sassiness in this image.

**Jasmine + TJ: I wish you both the best of luck in life, love most of all happiness. Cheers to a new beginning! Best, Rr.

Jasmine + Tyrell : Sneak Peek

Just got back from a fantastic wedding at the Fairmont in San Jose. I’ll be blogging a few of my favorites later this week but wanted to share a sneak peak of what’s coming!

Practice Makes Perfect

I am SUPER stoked that I’ll be documenting Jasmine + TJ’s wedding tomorrow. Though this was my first time to shoot a wedding rehearsal, I did find it very helpful for three reasons. The first was getting to spend time with the couple, their wonderful family, friends and guests as they practice their vows, the second being able to survey the scene and figure out what angles are going to work on their big day and three, getting in some practice shots on some new camera  gear. For now just a sneak peak on a couple delightful shots I wanted to share.

Jasmine + TJ as the priest makes a witty remark :0)

The Happy Couple to be!

Jasmine’s going to make a gorgeous bride!

After the rehearsal dinner Jasmine + her bridesmaids go out for a wild ride!

Michelle

There are a few things in life that make me jealous. Some are pretty outrageous like when I see women riding a Harley (it’s my secret wish in life to learn to ride – on a Harley much less), or when things seem effortless for certain people.

As I was in editing mode for Michelle’s maternity session I couldn’t help but notice this radiant beam emanating from her like a blinding beacon of light . Heck, you could even call it an effortless beauty. One might guess what this radiance is. Happiness might be my guess. You feel it when you walk into their home. You hear it in her laugh. You see it in the way she smiles at her husband and it’s pretty evident in these photos. Cheers to the proud parents of a pretty darn lucky baby!

A few of my faves from our session:

Okay, possibly one of my favorites of all. So adorb.
I couldn’t help myself around the rubber duckies. I don’t own one and so it’s always a treat when I see them at someone else’s house! This baby is in for such an awesome life with two parents who are going to love him/her (the sex is still unknown at this point).
Very maternity chic. If only Vogue had such a magazine….
